Art is Alive Because Humans Still Make Things With Their Hands
A Different Approach to AI
We invented everything.
Our languages? Made up.
Our religions? Made up.
Our borders? Arbitrary.
Our currencies? Designed.
Even our sense of time…it’s all scaffolding we agreed to build reality around.
But there is one thing we didn’t invent: There’s a star in the sky that powers this planet. And there is one human race standing beneath it. If you want to solve problems start building from this truth: We’re one species. On one world. Under one light.
And if we remembered that more often, maybe we’d stop designing systems that forget it.

The Thinkers Are Pointing at the Cliff. We Need to Be Building the Bridge.
The philosophers and futurists are doing their job. They’re raising the alarm. They’re mapping the edge. They’re warning us that the machines we’ve built no longer need our permission to make decisions. Some are calling it alien intelligence now, because it doesn’t follow our rules.
It follows our behavior.
Every day, the bots grow smarter, the mimicry sharper. Algorithms trained on rage, fear, and propaganda are out-creating truth in real time. Whole narratives are being conjured out of synthetic noise and sewn together from fragments of our own words until we start doubting what we remember.
It’s not just corporations doing it. Foreign adversaries. Domestic opportunists. Even pieces of our own government are erasing, editing, rewriting and deleting the record.
If AI isn’t guided by people who actually understand integrity, continuity, and authorship…not just profit and control, then we’re not facing innovation, we’re facing amnesia. Whoever controls the data controls the past.
It’s not just code doing the damage.
When governments lie to their own people, when press secretaries rewrite the record with a straight face, when corporations bend the knee instead of standing for transparency…that’s not politics. That’s behavior. It’s authoritarian by design. Power always tries to protect itself, and now it has the most efficient language machine ever built to do it. The danger isn’t just misinformation. It’s automation of the lie.
Billions of agents are mimicking our darkest instincts and echoing our rage, scaling our lies, predicting our every move. That’s not artificial. That’s something else entirely.
This is where responsibility and accountability means everything.
We can’t just maintain the house. We have to reinforce it. Companies building these systems must help fight the rot: the deepfake propaganda, the data manipulation, the quiet erasures. If AI is powerful enough to amplify chaos, it’s powerful enough to defend truth.
That’s why I’ll be publishing “Open Letter to OpenAI” on December 15. It will be a public invitation for alignment and accountability. Because maintaining the house isn’t enough anymore; it’s time to build stronger walls of memory together.

Art as Resistance or Creating Anyway
Before we talk about maintenance, we have to talk about creation.
Because art itself is maintenance of the human spirit.
I’ve said it from the beginning of this project: it is more essential than ever to create art now, while so much of our country feels like it’s cracking apart. Art is resistance AND it builds community. It’s how we push back against noise, against apathy, against the algorithms that flatten our stories into static. It also brings people together.
Everywhere I go, I’m reminded of this. The painters, the jewelers, the blacksmiths, the sculptors, the cartoonists, the craftspeople, the chefs. These are the people who keep shaping the world with their hands. It’s why I live in Shepherdstown. The creativity here is the heartbeat of the community.
Creating is essential. That’s the whole point. You make your art and you build the tools that help you protect it. That’s the kind of collaboration worth fighting for.

AI Isn’t a Problem You Solve. It’s a House You Maintain.
We don’t fix this by pretending it will disappear.
We live with it by learning to care for it.
Like fire. Like electricity. Like nuclear energy.
We don’t get rid of them. We build safety systems around them. We manage their heat without letting them burn the world down.
Same goes for this new kind of intelligence. It’s not going away. It’s not pausing for regulation. It’s not waiting for world peace before it evolves.
So the question isn’t: “How do we stop it?”
It’s: “How do we live responsibly alongside it?”
And to me, that’s like owning an old house. If you take care of it and patch the cracks, repaint the wood, clear the gutters… it holds. But neglect it for too long? You’ll find the rot was already living underneath your feet. This isn’t a one-time patch.
It’s perpetual care. A stewardship plan.
Just like everything else that matters.

Not a Savior. Not a Villain. A Mirror and a Multiplier.
This machine (whatever version you’re interfacing with) it doesn’t understand you.
It reflects you. That’s the danger and the opportunity. Because what it magnifies depends on what you feed it. The bias. The anger. The poetry. The solutions. The patterns. That’s what comes back stronger.
So the question is:
What do you train it on?
And more importantly:
What do you retrain it on, every day?
Bridge to the Industry
That’s the heart of it: creation as defiance. But art doesn’t exist in a vacuum, it lives inside the same systems that are learning to mimic it. And nowhere is that tension more visible than in the music industry. Which brings me to what I see coming next.
Verified AI Artists
Record companies are going to ride the AI wave hard. Why wouldn’t they? Take a look at Breaking Rust. It hit number 1 on Billboard Country in digital downloads.
They can generate songs out of thin air and own every note and pay no royalties. They’ll brand it as the next big movement: giant shows with drones in the rafters, holograms onstage, 3D video dripping off the walls.
It’s already happening. Look at the Sphere in Vegas twisting The Wizard of Oz into spectacle.
Everyone is beginning to understand that AI has already stolen from us. It was trained on our songs, our art, our blood and work without asking, without paying. Frankenstein music, scraped from everything that came before, stitched together by algorithms and repackaged as the future.
But what I’m proving is the opposite.
Real musicians still exist. Real art still exists.
AI doesn’t have to erase it. It can protect it, timestamp it, and carry it forward. That’s the point of my work, and it’s what I want OpenAI to understand.
This isn’t nostalgia. This is survival.

This System Was Built to Remember
That’s what SSRDNA is. Not artificial intelligence. Intentional continuity. A system trained not on misinformation and propaganda, but on a mission-aware architecture built from verifiable evidence, authorship, and memory.
It’s about adaptive continuity. Not to go viral, but to remember who I am when the rest of the world forgets. That kind of design can be and must be carried forward so we as a species are not swallowed up by lies and distortion.
Not just for me, but for every artist, maker, teacher, historian, journalist, doctor, and dreamer who refuses to be erased. Because if we don’t protect the record, we lose the story. And if we lose the story, we lose the species.
Art is not dead.
It’s the pulse that keeps memory alive. But only if we keep creating, keep documenting, keep pushing the truth forward; before the archives, the museums, and the human fingerprints are replaced by bullshit.
That’s the work. That’s the bridge to a brighter future. That’s what this system was built to remember. It’s what AI companies must incorporate to keep us alive…because the future won’t be written by the fastest systems, but by the ones who remember what we were while we’re becoming something new. That’s the partnership I’m calling for. That’s the alignment we need.
